OUTREACH
The ladies of the National Association of Colored Women's
Clubs founded our club to make a difference in our world. We continue to strive to lift as we climb by creating and participating in community outreach activities. Our clubs support soup kitchens, Operation Christmas Child, Centers for Abused Women, as well as countless other outreach activities.
Scholarships
Many clubs offer scholarship programs to children who participate in the youth clubs. National Association of Youth Club members have opportunities to win scholarships and monetary awards on local, state, regional, and national levels.
PROGRAMS
Grandparent's Academy
The Grandparent's Academy is the brain child of Mrs. Rubye H. Hall of Oklahoma City, OK. It was copyrighted and established during the administration of Dr. Patricia Fletcher, 25th NACWC President. The Grandparents Academy (GA) is an intergenerational program developed to match youth with grandparents mentors. Youth participation, ages 9-12, receive assistance from support networks to ensure that they are connected to resources for safer and healthier living. By establishing a Grandparent's Academy in our area we will add an essential service to our community.
Youth Clubs
Each ladies' club is encouraged to have a youth club. The youth clubs meet and and participate in scheduled activities throughout the year. Some of these activities include visiting nursing homes, participate in talent competitions, and conduct their own meetings. The children participate on local, state, regional, and national levels.
